DJ Heller Bio

DJ Heller represents the next generation of leadership in one of San Diego’s most legendary automotive families. His youth was spent in the usual way – washing cars, working in the service department, and following salesmen around. Making sure he understood value, when time came for a driver’s license there was no red convertible Mustang waiting for DJ. Instead, his wheels were a 1978 Ford LTD – until he moved up to a Pinto.

Now, as the third generation to operate Heller Ford Hyundai, DJ Heller can drive anything he wants. Understanding value and family has helped him successfully steer his family’s 70-year-old dealership through recent tough times.

But life isn’t all about business. A native of Escondido, DJ married a volleyball star he met at the University of the Pacific where he played baseball. He and his wife Melanie are raising their happy family here in Escondido. Brianna, Lindsey, Jenna, and Davis keep them busy with sports and theatre activities.

A lifetime of personal and professional success, for DJ it’s all about the value of family.
