Mr. Heller,
My wife and I purchased a new Hyundai Genesis sedan from another dealership
in October 2010. We noticed an unusual noise in the drive train and
brought it to your service department for repair.
Your technicians were very professional and courteous, but the noise
persisted and Hyundai reps were contacted. After a total of four repair
attempts and over 30 cumulated days of down time, Hyundai Motors states
the condition was a characteristic of the Genesis and they would do
no further repairs.
During the period of time we were attempting repairs I got to know Don
McDougall and told him the situation was unacceptable. I found him to
be a knowledgeable and trustworthy man and sought his advice. I told
him that I could not continue to drive the Genesis and that I either
must fight a legal battle with Hyundai or get a new car. I also told
Don that I did not feel right selling the Genesis to a private party
without disclosing the noise issue.
Don was sincere and helpful and suggested he refer me to Jim Spicer,
and would ask Jim to do his best for us on a trade in of the Genesis
for a car we would he happy with.
I have purchased over a dozen new cars in my life including, a Lexus,
Avalon, Volvo, Chevy, Ford and Lincoln. Dealing with Jim Spicer and
Don McDougall has been the most straight forward and pleasant experience
in my fifty plus years of buying new cars.
I look forward to dealing with your company in the future due largely
to these gentlemen.
